Tristan & Yseult

13 Jun 2017 - 24 Jun 2017

Everything you’ve heard is true. Energetically physical, colourful, funny at every conceivable opportunity, this show is consistently engaging and above all relentlessly, joyously inventive. Hannah Vassello’s suitably magnetic, and the pair are wholly convincing lovers, but everyone in this all-singing, all-dancing ensemble is wonderful. The onstage band is superb. Hugely entertaining, and with a keen sense of the ridiculous, it still manages to break your heart. Not to be missed.

A charming and engaging blend of acrobatics, dance and witty physical clowning with an appealing down-at-heel design aesthetic. Some of the stunts are jaw-dropping, and performed with an insouciance that meens they often also benefit from the element of surprise. The clever use of very simple lighting and excellent choices of backing music also make this stand out.
