“The phrases scene-chewing and high-camp were never more aptly used... Both gruesome and delightful.”

Daisy Bowie-Sell (What's On Stage, Time Out, Telegraph)

“Crass, funny, camp, vicious and slightly old hat.”

Neil Norman (Express, The Stage)

“Good performances fail to redeem a pointless revival... One big, nasty, waspish, self-satisfied in-joke.”

Tim Bano (The Stage, Time Out)

“Another sticky-fingered homage to that most self-loving of genres, musical theatre - and I’m not sure there’s an audience for it”

Alice Saville (Time Out, Independent)

“Like a whoopee cushion that explodes with triple kisses and shouts: “Darling, you were wonderful!”.. Not that wonderful, though.”

Ann Treneman (Times)

“A campy, vampy cult show... Showing its age... One big, knowing, in-joke of a musical.”

Mark Shenton (The Stage, London Theatre, Express)

“Two hours of unrelieved camp that, by the end, had me longing for some other business than show business.”

Michael Billington (The Guardian)
