The ‘hugely popular musical’ (The Times) based on the acclaimed novel by Gregory Maguire that re-imagined stories and characters created by L. Frank Baum in The Wonderful Wizard Of Oz, Wicked tells the incredible untold story of an unlikely but profound friendship between two girls who first meet as sorcery students. Their extraordinary adventures in Oz will ultimately see them fulfil their destinies as Glinda The Good and the Wicked Witch of the West.
One of the Top 20 longest-running musicals in West End history, it first opened at the Apollo in 2006.

“To be uplifting and subversive, schmaltzy and wise all at the same time is quite a feat of musical engineering.”

Dominic Cavendish (The Telegraph)

“This stylish and bombastic musical still delivers.”

Time Out (Other reviewers)

“Good family entertainment... it may try too hard to be worthy by over-emphasising its messages of friendship and tolerance.”

What's on Stage (Other reviewers)

“Witty, enjoyable... keeps the gags coming as it cleverly subverts the film that spawned it.”

Charles Spencer (The Telegraph)

“Spectacular beauty, ingenious costumes, literate lyrics and well-crafted songs... with... satirical intent and emotional energy.”

Michael Coveney (What's on Stage, The Stage, Independent)

“There is a certain zest about the love-hate relationship between the despised Elphaba and the glamorous Glinda.”

Michael Billington (The Guardian)

“A bit like the real-life Streisand story translated to Oz and with added chlorophyll.”

Paul Taylor (The Independent)
