Based on the true life memoirs of legendary burlesque entertainer, Gypsy Rose Lee, this musical tells the tale of Momma Rose and her two daughters, Baby June and Louise, trekking across America in their family vaudeville act.

But times are changing, audiences are expecting more, and the two girls have their own ambitions in mind. The rise of burlesque is upon them, and nothing will ever be the same again for Momma Rose.

One of the greatest ever Broadway musicals transferred to the West End following a five-star run at Chichester Festival Theatre.

“Kent’s revival... is like a collector’s loving restoration job on a beautifully-made vintage car... Staunton’s unmissable. ”

Andrzej Lukowski (Time Out)

“Sits perfectly in a traditional proscenium theatre...Staunton gives one of the greatest performances I’ve ever seen... Gorgeous.”

Michael Billington (The Guardian)

“Kent’s revival offers the unrepeatable chance to witness Imelda Staunton give one of the performances of her career. ”

Dominic Cavendish (The Telegraph)

“Even more kaleidoscopically irresistible set in the Savoy’s weary gilt-and -velvet... Is three standing ovations even enough? ”

Libby Purves (TheatreCat, Times)

“Stunning revival of one of the greatest Broadway musicals... Imelda Staunton [is] staggeringly good. ”

Dominic Maxwell (The Times)

“Johnathan Kent‘s magnificent version... The songs, of course, are terrific... Is there anything Staunton can’t do? ... Just go! ”

West End Whingers

“Magnificently restored... Smarter and spunkier... With a barnstorming, scathingly hard-edged performance from Imelda Staunton. ”

Michael Coveney (What's on Stage, The Stage, Independent)

“Stuffed full of delicious songs... Good as everyone else is in Jonathan Kent’s polished production, this is Staunton’s show. ”

Fiona Mountford (Evening Standard)

“A terrific, richly rounded performance that matches volume with nuance by an actress at the top of her game. ”

Patrick Marmion (Time Out, Daily Mail)
