Two couples. Friendship, suspicion, deceit... and the truth.

A man becomes caught up in a four-way love affair after discovering his mistress' husband is also sleeping with his wife.

Having premiered at the Menier Chocolate Factory before opening in Bath, Zeller's hit comedy is back in London with the same cast.

(Some reviews are from the Menier in March.)

“A virtuoso display of zinging lines, laughingly cruel perceptions about male behaviour and emotional handbrake-turns... Classy. ”

Libby Purves (TheatreCat, Times)

“Sideways look at love and deception... Sex, lies and cruelty form a playful tangle. ”

Ann Treneman (Times)

“Looks certain to be another hit... Funny, thought-provoking and plays as seamlessly as a dream... Unusually accomplished. ”

Kate Kellaway (Observer)

“Its rapid transfer up West is more than well deserved... Posner’s cast, now well dug in, present a masterclass... Brilliant. ”

Libby Purves (TheatreCat, Times)

“Playful, poignant infidelity drama that cuts surprisingly deep... Acted with both churning tension and great feeling. ”

Mark Shenton (The Stage, London Theatre, Express)

“A pacy comedy... Shrewdly performed... Slippery entertainment, veering towards farce but also laced with cruel human insight. ”

Henry Hitchings (Evening Standard)

“Tart, zingy, cheerily amoral... Very funny and totally unafraid of silliness... Crisp, assured and well-acted. ”

Andrzej Lukowski (Time Out)

“A zippy, witty farce... Its quick pace and bracing comic wordplay fail to hide some piercing, lasting truths. ”

Time Out (Other reviewers)

“As twisty as a corkscrew and taut as a cheesewire... An exquisitely cruel kind of fun... Sparkling, brittle, glassy and clever. ”

Sam Marlowe (The Times, The Stage, Time Out, Arts Desk)

“A quartet of terrific actors keeps the 90 minutes zinging with wit and cavalier intimacy... Cool and clever farce. ”

Neil Norman (Express, The Stage)

“Civilised, witty and sophisticated... Hanson gives an outstanding performance... Highly diverting. ”

Michael Billington (The Guardian)

“Heartless... A taut cast... Though I admired this bleak comedy’s modernist aplomb, I wished for some love amid the cynicism. ”

Quentin Letts (Daily Mail)

“Elegantly astringent... Hanson is hilariously squirm-making... Excellent Robert Portal plays lethally sly power games. ”

Paul Taylor (The Independent)

“Works with smooth, sinuous precision... Plays clever, funny games with the idea of truth and lies... Not exactly profound. ”

Sarah Crompton (What's On Stage, Guardian)
