Meet Jess and Joe. They want to tell you their story.

Joe is Norfolk born and bred and wears wellies. Jess holidays there with her au pair and is slightly too tubby for her summer dresses. They are miles apart even when they stand next to each other.

This is a story of growing up, fitting in (or not), boys, girls, secrets, scotch eggs and maybe even love. Most of all, it’s about friendship.

A layered and thoughtful play about finding your place in the world when you only know a small corner of it.

“Gorgeous... Very wise, very funny – and feels utterly authentic... Coughlan – sparkling... Isaac-Jones – still and touching. ”

Miriam Gillinson (Arts Desk, Time Out)

“Unusual mix of earthy truth and lightness... A romantic comedy that’s genuinely funny but also unexpectedly powerful. ”

Henry Hitchings (Evening Standard)

“Adolescence is beautifully explored in this messy, playful production... Coughlan and Isaac-Jones are a hugely endearing duo. ”

Tim Bano (The Stage, Time Out)

“Cooper deliberately plays delightful tricks with our expectations, in a way that is both joyous and highly emotional. ”

Aleks Sierz (Arts Desk, The Stage)

“Creeps up on you... A play that matures alongside its characters... a daring move that pays dividends. ”

Matt Trueman (What's On Stage, Time Out)

“Well worth catching for its touching portrait of the awkward uncertainties of adolescence and the potential for transformation.”

Michael Billington (The Guardian)

“A sweetly distinctive depiction of young love... Vivid and touching. ”

Dominic Maxwell (The Times)
