Theatregoers getting ready for a performance of Behn’s most successful play, The Rover, are in for a surprise. One of the actresses is indisposed and the show has to be cancelled.

Instead Aphra Behn will tell them about her extraordinary adventures as a spy for King Charles II in the Dutch Wars, and how she later became the first ever professional female writer.

The show Amias presented at the first Women and War festival returns for another date.
