Susannah Clapp (The Observer)

“Heavenly: easy on eye and ear... The comic acting is top-notch... Schmaltz is repeatedly avoided by the witty lyrics.”

West End Whingers

“Delectable... One third of the way in, the whole production just raises itself up a notch... Something special.”

Ann Treneman (Times)

“A delight... Gains from the intimacy of the Menier and the skilfulness of White’s staging... A seductive, old-world charm.”

Michael Billington (The Guardian)

“A gossamer-thin plot and few numbers in wide circulation... Takes a while to seduce fully... I became increasingly smitten. ”

Dominic Cavendish (The Telegraph)

“Bock’s score and Harnick’s lyrics are bouncy and innocent in the manner of golden-age musicals... Comes up smelling of roses.”

Ian Shuttleworth (Financial Times)

“Gorgeously giftwrapped production... Endlessly inventive, pun-tastic lyrics and a memorable score... Scenes of stilted flirting.”

Alice Saville (Time Out, Independent)
