New best friends Michael and Joseph reckon they can do better than what’s on offer in the London gay disco scene of 1981. So one on the decks, one on the lights, they build their own underground club, where devotees can escape the racism, hardship and homophobia that still stalk the city’s streets.

It looks like they’re going to conquer the world until ambition, addiction and the dawning onslaught of AIDS threaten to tear them apart.

A celebration of the crucial importance of queer spaces and the power of gay friendship, tells its uplifting story with drama, contemporary dance and the club sounds of the 1980s.
