One-man show based on the poems of Nobel laureate Joseph Brodsky, performed by Mikhail Baryshnikov.

An emotional journey deep into the poet's visceral and complex compositions. In Brodsky's mother tongue, Baryshnikov recites a selection of his long-time friend's poignant and eloquent works. His subtle physicality transports the audience into Hermanis' reverent imagining of Brodsky's interior world.

UK Premiere

Performed in Russian with English surtitles.

“Austerely beautiful staging... the deep feelings of friendship shine through... Baryshnikov's voice is poetic and flexible.”

Sarah Crompton (What's On Stage, Guardian)

“A deeply felt tribute... A sense of loss and faded Old World grandeur hangs heavily over the stage.”

Anna Winter (The Stage)
