Caesar returns from war, an all-conquering hero, but mutiny is rumbling through the corridors of power. Although Brutus loves Caesar, he is persuaded to kill him for the greater good, and like all conspirators loses control of the consequences.

The story that continues to define all political backstabbing, with spin and betrayal turning to violence. Part of the RSC's Rome season.

“In some quarters, will be denounced as traditional but it is Jackson’s very concentration on the text that makes it radical.”

Michael Arditti (Express)

“Waldman gives Brutus his hesitant nobility, all cleverly thought out philosophical positions and balanced politics... Great fun.”

Gary Naylor (Broadway World)

“The over-riding sense is of colossal amounts of effort being expended to dwindling avail.”

Dominic Cavendish (The Telegraph)

“Corrigan, who looks unnervingly like Labour’s Andy Burnham, is arresting as Mark Antony with flashes of real charisma.”

Ann Treneman (Times)
