A bunch of improvisers who have learned how to make up a fully-realised musical on the spot based on audience suggestions.

It includes incredible, moving story-lines, amazing songs, full group harmonies, dance numbers. It’s also very funny to watch.

We’ve been working on this show since 2008, working out how to improvise in increasingly esoteric styles – musical, dance, straight theatre, film genres – whatever helps us make the show more interesting. We also spend a lot of time trying to become better story-tellers so we can not only do your ideas justice, but so that each show is as different as it can be. It’s an all-consuming and never-ending task but we love it.

The hugley successful West End show is back at the Lyric.

(Reviews are from the Apollo in October 2015).

“Consummate, long-trained skill [in] the service of pure frivol... Beats a lot of full-fledged musicals... Something special. ”

Libby Purves (TheatreCat, Times)

“Doesn’t let up from frisky, low-key start to standing ovation-inducing finish. It’s so polished, it defies belief... Go. ”

Dominic Cavendish (The Telegraph)

“Stalwarts Meggido, Ruth Bratt and Pippa Evans were outstanding... Satirical ingenuity and a fully tuned critical alertness. ”

Michael Coveney (What's on Stage, The Stage, Independent)

“In-depth knowledge of musical theatre and improvisation skills second to none make Showstopper! a must-see. ”

The Stage (Other reviewers)

“A brand new musical is created at every performance. Scary... Amazing... You don’t even have to like musicals to enjoy this one.”

West End Whingers

“It all feels gloriously precarious and fresh... When it clicks, it’s absolutely magical. ”

Andrzej Lukowski (Time Out)

“If there’s a more cracklingly creative night out in the West End, I’d like to see it. ”

Dominic Maxwell (The Times)

“With a basic set... they made up a show that was pertinent, hilarious and very tuneful... Astounding. ”

Neil Norman (Express, The Stage)

“Exuberant... full of theatreland in-jokes... Snap, crackle and pop and an almost telepathic rapport between the performers. ”

Bruce Dessau (Evening Standard)
